Opsimath might be the word

Opsimath: a person who begins to learn or study only late in life.

Although this does not exactly capture the essence as most of us who are in the ruminate-repeat cycle at least have some sort of education, I think it captures the want that is hidden beneath those layers of rumination ie., the want to pursue one's curiosity while validitating the idea of temporal relativity in terms of knowledge acquisition and purely for the sake of it(without any ulterior motive). This is to say that the paradoxical advice of "It is never too late" and "It is later than you think" can be true at once and all without the burden of productivity thrown upon you. So this may be the word I am looking for, but I am still not very sure :/
